GIRONA FC 0-0 REAL SOCIEDAD

Valuable point

Real Sociedad secured a valuable point at Montilivi. The side from Guipuzcoa completed a good match against an opponent that showed why they're having a fantastic season.

Despite the home team got off to a strong start, it was a very even first half. Girona FC even managed to take the lead, but the VAR disallowed the goal due to an offside that occurred before the shot. Shortly after, following a good play by André Silva, Oyarzabal put the ball into the net, albeit in a slight offside position. It was an entertaining first half, with a final txuri urdin counter-attack that almost left Becker alone against Gazzaniga.

Real were much better in the second half. They nullified Girona with their usual soccer of possession and quick pressure after loss. Imanol's side deserved a little more in this half, but despite their superiority, they were unable to create clear chances to score, except for a shot inside the area by Brais that was saved by the goalkeeper. Just before the final whistle, the hosts had a very good chance to win the match, which would have been very unfair.

A match that leaves a good taste in the mouth for Tuesday's Copa del Rey clash in Mallorca. We are Real.
