Victory slips away in injury time

Real Sociedad leaves with one point from Vallecas and the feeling that victory slipped away. The side from San Sebastian had to come from behind, and they were on the verge of victory with a brace from Mikel Oyarzabal but a goal scored by the hosts in injury time sealed the draw.

Matches in Vallecas are always exciting, and it's not easy to keep control. Real had the finest chance, with a stunning shot from Brais that hit the crossbar after clearing the wall. After half an hour, the hosts took the lead thanks to a powerful shot from Mumin following Remiro's deflection. Real rallied strongly from the setback and equalized before halftime thanks to a fantastic goal from Oyarzabal. The captain, with his right foot, finished a beautiful left-footed cross from Barrene into the net.

The second half had few chances until a Kubo cross hit Espino's hand, prompting the referee to nod to the penalty spot. Oyarzabal, as usual, didn't disappoint, deceiving Dimitrievski. Imanol's side took control of the game after that, not allowing Rayo much space, however, the match remained open. Sadiq nearly scored shortly after entering the game, but his shot was blocked. Real couldn't put the game to bed as Rayo equalized in injury time with a long-range shot from Bebé. In the last play of the game, once again, Sadiq could have sealed the win with a header but the ball went wide.

Real has to settle for one point and returns home with the feeling of losing two. Too bad. We are Real!
