La Real Sociedad has achieved the first win of the season after winning 3-0 against Rayo Vallecano. They did not concede and were great in the defense. They took chances and finally got what they deserved.
What a victory! Not only because they finally did it but also because of the match itself. It couldn’t start any better, Nahikari controlled a right-wing centre inside the box and placed the ball into the goal. Gorka Álvarez´s team wanted more. They continued dominating the match. Natalia warned the team before the half-time but Mariasun was there to save her effort. That was the most obvious occasion for Rayo Vallecano.
During the second half, the score was closer to 2-0 than to 1-1. Maintaining the result was a possibility but it could turn against us at some point. At minute 70, Manu put the team from Guipúzcoa in front with a shot from outside the box and an 90th-minute own goal from Mendi condemned the local team to defeat. Before the referee blew the final whistle, Michi could have scored the fourth goal with a lob.
We must continue on the right path. Next week, the team will play against Levante.
