Sanse has obtained their first victory after defeating Barakaldo 3-1. The potrillos defied the weather, were able to play their game and were clinical in front of goal.
After an uneventful start of the game, the home team took control of the pitch. Jauregui drew first blood after 18 minutes, capitalizing on an indirect free kick inside the box. Soon after that it was Merquelanz’s turn, who scored the second for Sanse with a low shot into the right side of the net. Hidalgo cut the distance for the visitors but, just before the break, Jauregui scored again to give the potrillos some peace of mind.
The start of the second half saw a slightly more even game with both teams getting close to the opposite goal. Despite being up 3-1, Sanse kept trying to score a fourth goal to seal off the game – and Sanz was close to doing exactly that with an effort that went just wide.
Barakaldo went out all guns blazing in the last few minutes, but could not find a gap in the home team’s back four. As a result, the match turned crazy and any team could have scored. Zubiaurre made a few good saves. This is an important victory which will help regain positive feelings and confidence in front of goal. Sanse will try to extend their winning streak next weekend against Amorebieta.
