The Reale Arena has won the Prix Versailles 2020 for Sports, one of the most prestigious prizes in the world for architecture and design. Our stadium, design of the Architecture Firm Izaskun Larzabal, competed against other five nominees: Al Maktoum Stadium (Dubai), Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (London), Puskas Arena (Budapest), Papua Bangkit Stadium (Indonesia) y VTB Arena Dynamo (Moscow).
The Reale Arena has been awarded the prize by the prestigious jury of the Prix Versailles 2020. The jury is formed up of prominent figures in multiple disciplines, from well known architects and Pritzker award winners to 3 star chefs and influential personalities in the world of art and culture. The award values innovation, creativity, local heritage reference, and also components such as sustainability, energetic efficiency or social, cultural and economic integration.
It has been a great honor to receive this award which is a tribute to the effort and hard work by everyone involved in this project. We have one of the best stadiums in the world but that will not be possible without our supporters. Let’s hope that our fans can enjoy some fantastic football at the Reale Arena soon.
