Real Sociedad’s centenary celebration was a grand opportunity to remember our history, reinforce our pride and strengthen the link with our supporters.
The celebrations began on January 20 with Real Sociedad lowering San Sebastián’s flag at the Constitution Square. From that day, ceremonies were held throughout Guipúzcoa until September 7. On August 15, the club ’s centenary big celebration took place. Real Madrid was invited with stars such as Casillas, Xabi Alonso, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema or Kaká. The team from Madrid won 2-0 to struggling Real. There was a great atmosphere.
On September 7, the club celebrated their first 100 years and an institutional act took place. The best starting XI of our history was elected by popular vote and was honored on that day, celebrations were formally closed and the museum Real 100 was officially opened. The museum is one of the legacies of the centenary.
