REAL OVIEDO 1-0 REAL SOCIEDAD

First setback

Real Sociedad fell to their first defeat of the season this afternoon, losing 1–0 at the Carlos Tartiere. After a bright start, the txuri urdin conceded the decisive goal just before half-time and were unable to turn things around in the second half.

Real started the match searching for their first win of the season, and the early minutes looked promising. The hosts left gaps that the txuri urdin tried to exploit, creating clear opportunities. Marín and Aramburu both shot over, Kubo unleashed a powerful strike, and Oyarzabal forced Aarón into a corner-saving stop. However, just before half-time, Oviedo scored on a counterattack and went into the break with the lead.

The second half grew increasingly scrappy, with frequent interruptions disrupting Real’s attacking rhythm. The team pressed forward but couldn’t find a breakthrough, although deep into stoppage time, Turrientes came close with a volley that narrowly missed the target. It was the first defeat of the season, coming just before the international break. Not the ideal way to head into the pause, but the squad must now focus on moving forward. In two weeks, Real Sociedad will host Real Madrid.
