Mikel Merino was officially presented as a Real Sociedad player. Last week, the txuri-urdin club unveiled Merino as their latest signing and after several training sessions at Zubieta, the player from Navarre met the supporters who were there to greet him.
Once he was presented, the player appeared in front of the media accompanied by the President Jokin Aperribay. Aperribay welcomed him “It’s been a long time since we wanted you to join the team. You are close to your home and we wish you successful years ahead” he said.
Mikel Merino showed his gratitude for the opportunity offered to him by Real. “Thanks for making me feel home, I am very happy and this is the place to be to grow both as a player and as a person. Thanks to you, Jokin, thanks to the Board of Directors and the technical staff… It is great to be here. You showed interest in me and I appreciate it”.
He is now at Real and is hungry for glory. “I can’t wait to be back in LaLiga and face big players. This is a big challenge for me and I want to show that I can become a great LaLiga player. This is a beautiful and exciting project. Real Sociedad always play well and can do good things this season. I will grow as a football player. I feel identified with Real Sociedad”, he stated.
