Unfruitful match against Leganés. La Real lost 1-0 and let go the opportunity of making progress in the table. Surely, the realistas didn’t deserve the defeat but the locals hit the mark.
La Real started as usual. They were completely dominant and playing around the box, creating scoring chances but not taking advantage of them. In general, the possession was realista. Eusebio’s team got better and had the best chances before the half-time. Cuéllar was masterful and didn’t let la Real take the lead. Illarra shot from long range and Oyarzábal made a goal-bound pass but Cuéllar made an excellent save.
The second half kicked off more even, but Leganés were straight onto the attack. La Real came back in the game and dominated again but were not capable of materializing their efforts. 15 minutes before full-time, the team from Madrid scored goal. La Real did their best to even the game but didn’t manage to take not even one point.
We missed the chance to start the year with a victory. This is not a good result. We must react. Sunday’s match is a great challenge but we are going to go all out. Aúpa Real!
