Today, la Real wasted the opportunity to rise up the table. The txuri-urdin team fell 2-1 against RCD Espanyol in a match in which they were taking the lead before the break. A bad start of the second condemned the team to failure and its aspirations are now far behind.
The first half was not outstanding. Willian José’s shot went wide but the team were recovering good sensations. Meanwhile, the pericos were getting closer to Moyá. La Real defended well but couldn’t find a way to score past the Catalans side. However, in the 41st minute, Willian José run at Pau and stabbed home which was key but maybe undeserved.
Despite the advantage and just ten minutes after the start of the second, la Real Sociedad was condemned to a draw due to their bad performance. Baptistao slotted home and Moyá couldn’t do anything to avoid it. Then, la Real went all out but Moyá conceded a penalty for tripping Gerard Moreno. Moyá blocked his shot but Moreno reacted on the loose ball and fired the ball home. There were only 20 minutes left and things didn’t look good. La Real did their best until the end but there were no clear chances at all.
This defeat reduces the options of the realistas and leaves them in a complicated situation. Things have become difficult but the team have to put in their maximum effort. Aúpa Real.
