Tomorrow’s visit from Valencia CF (16:15 hours) was the focus of Eusebio Sacristán press conference. The coach said his team will be going into the game fully prepared and keen to make up for Monday’s result at Riazor.
"Whenever you suffer a defeat – and particularly after a heavy defeat like the one we suffered the other day, it’s painful and you need time for that pain to ease away and to analyze everything that happened. We have tried to assess what went wrong and what we could have done better – that is what we have done, and it’s all we can do really. We have studied our mistakes and prepared ourselves for the next game. After a defeat like that, all you can do is work to ensure it doesn’t happen again in the future”, Eusebio told reporters this afternoon.
The coach spoke about Valencia CF and their coach Cesare Pradelli: “There is no question that on Saturday we will be facing a great club who always have good players and who are in a delicate situation – that makes them particularly dangerous, and on top of that, they will have the encouragement from their coach who is trying to generate a reaction from his players. He is a great coach, a very prestigious coach who has achieved important things at all of the clubs he has worked at. He’s a coach who knows how to handle a dressing room – he has been brought in to get the team to respond and we will need to be prepared for them, and fully focused because I am sure we will be up against a Valencia side which is determined to change their situation".
The game will be an opportunity for Real Sociedad to recuperate form and return to the positive dynamic of recent weeks, as Eusebio confirmed: "I really hope we can return to the path we were on and that what happened the other day at Riazor was an isolated incident. All of our rivals have their virtues. I have complete faith in the performance levels we have been showing since the season started, plus the attitude and competitive spirit we have shown in all of our games. I know that every game we play will be complicated and that we will face difficulties. We will confront this game with the same mentality – we are at our stadium and we feel sure that our people will give their full support. It’s important for us at this time to be united, to be determined and to show that we deserve to win the game".
