Real Sociedad lost their first German pre-season friendly after falling to VfB Stuttgart this afternoon (1-0). The home side turned the scoreline around with a goal by Akolo.

The first clear chance of the game fell to Diego Llorente who could have scored with a header from the corner kick. However, it was Akolo who netted the opening goal in the 11th minute. He beat Gero Rulli with a crossed shot from inside the box. Real dominated the game and there were a few chances in the first half but Willian José’s and Héctor Moreno’s headers did not find the back of the net. In the 30th minute, Oyarzabal hammered home but with no luck. Former realista Tayfun Korkut’s team were taking the lead at the break.

In the second half, Mario Gómez had a chance to add the second with a shot from long range, but his effort went wide. Real continued to hunt down their opponents' goal. Mikel Oyarzabal tried to score the equalizer but was unable to close the gap. Stuttgart made some substitutions and started to create danger. First, through Anastasios Donis and later through Nicolás González. Minutes later, Daniel Divadi could have scored but his shot went wide of the mark. Right at the end, Stuttgart dominated, created scoring chances and performed an excellent game.

Tomorrow, Real will face SC Freiburg at 15:30 in their last pre-season friendly. (You can turn to our social media channels to watch the game).
