37 years at the service of the club. His txuri-urdin love for Real goes far beyond this. Being raised in a realista environment, his brother Julio began the Olaizola era in Real Sociedad. Just after winning the league in Gijón, Mitxelo Olaizola joined the club workers’ family. First, he was in charge of the maintenance of the Zubieta pitch. Soon after, he became kitman of the first team.
Now, it is time to retire. A well-deserved break to enjoy life and continue to love Real Sociedad, his Real. Countless players’ boots have been entrusted to him and each and every player keep unforgettable memories of Mitxelo. Everyone loves him.
Next Monday will be his last day at the office. He will probably get very emotional, not only because he will say good bye to a 40-year career, but also because his son Unai will receive the baton. Unai will work together with José Luis Sánchez. It will be a very touching day, the end of a career full of professionalism, happiness, love and passion for Real Sociedad.
