Round of 16 secured!

Real Sociedad booked their spot in the Copa del Rey round of 16 thanks to a dramatic last-minute win over CD Eldense. The match offered little in terms of quality or clear chances, but the visitors ultimately accomplished their goal of moving on in the tournament.

Guedes was the main attacking outlet in the first half, testing the home goalkeeper with a couple of efforts that were comfortably saved. Although Real Sociedad controlled possession, they struggled to create danger in the final third. The best opportunity of the opening period came just before halftime, when Zakharyan failed to finish a clear chance in front of goal.

Late in the second half, Sučić gave the Basque side the lead, only for Eldense to respond immediately and level the score. With extra time looming, Marín produced a moment of quality in the dying seconds, delicately lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper to secure Real Sociedad’s qualification for the next round.
