La Real clinched their second straight win after beating Levante at the Reale Arena. A goal by Barrenetxea just before the break gave the txuri urdin three precious points.
It’s never easy to win two straight matches at home but the realistas made it. The game started very even but the txuri urdin delivered their best football. Imanol’s side had few chances in the first half. Silva started a fine individual move and could have broken the deadlock. For his part, Oyarzabal fired a shot that went wide. The granotas reply came after a great run and individual skill from a Levante player but he was unable to pick out a teammate in the area. Just before the break, Imanol’s side took the lead with a goal by Barrenetxea. The player run into the box and fired home. However, his shot hit a defender and Cárdenas was unable to clear the ball from the box. La Real headed into the break in the ascendancy.
Things got sloppy after the restart though. Paco López’s side needed to make life impossible to la Real but didn’t cause Remiro any problems. In the final minutes, Navarro tried his luck after a counterattack but his strike hit the post. This was the only chance the txuri urdin had in the second half.
La Real earned another valuable win at home. We love to go into the international break with six points. Aupa Real!
