La Real took three needed and encouraging points. The txuri-urdin team beat Deportivo Alavés 2-1 in a match which they deserved to win. The goals by Moreno and Illarra rise the blanquiazules in the table.
The Oscars are tonight and this afternoon clash couldn’t have a better screenplay. Since the kick-off, the realistas did excellently. Héctor Moreno, in his beginner role, scored his first goal for la Real and put the team in front. Before the 15th minute, Pacheco parried Bautista’s tame effort which Illarra used to fire from seven yards out. This is the seventh LaLiga goal of the season for the breakout goal scorer Illarra. The match was pleasing for the realistas but the babazorros reduced the arrears when Pedraza beat Moyá with a simple finish. A thrilling second half awaited.
The second was slower and lacked quality. The game broke up and there were no clear chances. Zurutuza was close to score the third for la Real but his strike was stopped by the keeper. The tension was palpable. Until the final whistle, la Real had a better control of the game and didn’t concede much. Willian José was back which was very good news. He came also close to score the third for the txuri-urdin team.
These three points are something to be proud of since they take the team away from the bottom of the table. We must keep on fighting. Still, there are many points to be taken. Aúpa Real!
