Today we remember…

Today we look back on the career of the Bosnian forward Meho Kodro. On this day in 1995, he scored a hat-trick in a match vs Athletic. Real won 5-0 and that was a day that the txuri urdin fans still remember.

Meho Kodro moved to Real in the summer of 1991. He scored his first ‘Kodrazo’ at the Santiago Bernabéu. That was the first of the 13 goals he scored in his league debut. The forward scored 13 goals in his second season, 27 in his third and 28 in his last year as a txuri urdin player. That is to say, 81 goals in 141 games. Interestingly, Kodro was presented with a hake every time he scored a goal. After Darko Kovacevic, he was the second highest scoring foreign player in Real. Outstanding numbers. Remember Kodro on the following video!
