The new Anoeta is almost here – Saturday is the big day! Today at noon, Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay, together with Sales and Marketing Manager Begoña Larzabal, held a press conference that included a guided visit to the new Anoeta and a detailed account of the current state of the new stadium and the logistics for the game against Barcelona. This information is extremely useful for the txuri urdin fans, who will be finally setting foot on their brand-new stadium in just a few days. First and foremost, Aperribay thanked everyone who has turned this dream stadium – with no running tracks! – into a reality. He said: “We are extremely happy; all of us have been looking forward to this moment for a long time. This stadium will allow us to welcome new members to the Real family and really compete at the level we want to. This is why we are making such a large investment in Anoeta and Zubieta, since we firmly believe that having excellent facilities will make our team stronger now and in the future”.
Now that everything but the north end is finished, Anoeta has 28,995 seats. Real Sociedad currently has 28,202 members (plus a waiting list), which means no tickets will be on sale for the game against FC Barcelona. In the future, information on whether tickets are for sale for each specific match will be released by the club. Both Larzabal and Aperribay stressed the fans’ extraordinary support throughout this process. “We are deeply grateful for the way they have handled the changes so far, and we kindly request them to be patient on the first day. The works have not finished yet”, said Larzabal.
