Gonçalo Guedes has officially become a new Real Sociedad player after signing his contract this afternoon. The Portuguese forward arrived at Loiu Airport earlier in the day, underwent a successful medical at Policlínica Gipuzkoa, and then visited the Anoeta offices to finalise the agreement. The deal will keep him at the txuri-urdin club until the end of the 2028–29 season, with La Real holding the option to extend it for an additional year.
Upon his arrival in Donostia-San Sebastián, Guedes expressed his enthusiasm about joining the club: “The welcome has been really warm, and I’m enjoying everything so far. I’m joining a team that plays attacking, ambitious football — something that fits perfectly with how I see the game, because I want to reach the highest level possible,” he said. When asked why he chose La Real, the forward was clear: “The way the team has been performing in recent years and their style of play” were the key factors behind his decision. After impressing during his spell at Valencia, Guedes reflected on his more recent experience: “I never fully adapted in England, and now I’m hoping to return to my best level as quickly as possible. I’ve already spoken with the coach, I understand what he expects from me, and I’m ready to give my all — both on and off the pitch.”
