“I’ve joined a great club”

Duje Ćaleta-Car is officially a new Real Sociedad player. After arriving at Loiu airport and completing his medical at Policlínica Gipuzkoa, the Croatian defender stepped onto the pitch at Anoeta once again this afternoon — a stadium he last visited years ago as a Salzburg player in the UEFA Europa League. In his first interview with Real Sociedad TV, Ćaleta-Car shared his excitement about starting this new chapter, making it clear he had no doubts once La Real showed their interest:

“I’m very happy to be here and to already be part of the Club. It has an incredible history, a fantastic city, a great stadium and amazing fans,” he said. The centre-back also highlighted his commitment to helping the team: “I’m here to give my best and support a young squad. I hope we can play attractive football and work well together on the pitch.” Fully aware of the club’s ambitions, the Croatian international made his goals clear: “I know it’s an ambitious project. I’ve come to help the team, play good football, make the fans happy and celebrate our achievements at the end of the season,” he concluded.
