La Real played an intelligent and serious game in Cádiz. The txuri urdin dominated from the off until the final whistle and took the three points thanks to a brace by Oyarzabal. First, he scored with a header and then he converted from the penalty spot after a foul was committed on Sørloth. This is the third straight victory for the realistas.
As its their custom, the side from San Sebastián came out will all guns blazing right from the first whistle. They were in possession most of the time. Oyarzabal and Silva tried their luck but to no avail. Meanwhile, Aritz was close to score an own goal as his effort to deny Cádiz hit the post. Thirty minutes later, la Real had three chances through Portu, Merino and Oyarzabal but neither of them found the back of the net.
The txuri urdin’s superior pace in the second half saw them take the initiative and 20 minutes before the final whistle Oyarzabal scored with a superb diving header thanks to an assist by Aritz. Sørloth’s great individual skill was stopped by Cala, who received his second yellow card. Then, la Real was penalty awarded. As usual, Oyarzabal stepped up to convert the spot-kick and put la Real in the driving seat in the tie.
This win reaffirms the team’s commitment towards their next challenge. On Thursday, la Real will play their first Europa League game in Eindhoven. Aupa, Real!
