A counter-attack led to the first goal. Oyarzabal set up Portu and Real took the lead in the 21st minute. However, the hosts equalized through Vadillo and the score was 1-1 at the break.
Real did not push up higher when they came out after the break and the nazaríes were not creating danger. It seemed that the game would end in a draw but in the 89th minute Portu scored a brace after an assist by Januzaj, giving Real the victory.
