Things are going from bad to worse. Real deserved to win and despite the great comeback, the txuri urdin didn’t get the award they deserve. Tonight, Real fell to Granada 2-3. Imanol’s side leveled the score and made it 2-2 but Granada scored in stoppage time and took all the three points, something that is unfair.
Real went all out but, once again, it was the opponent who took the lead. Portu had two chances before Granada opened the scoring through Puertas. Luck was not on our side at key moments. Barrene’s cross-come-shot fly hit the post. Again, he tried his luck but Granada goalkeeper denied it. Before the break, a dubious decision was taken. Soldado was onside and forced Llorente to get stuck in. The ball fell on the forward’s feet. VAR did not referee. 0-2. It was so unfair!
Merino reduced the arrears for Real after a corner kick. Spurred on by the goal, the txuri urdin came flying out of the blocks in the second half. Willlian José was close to score the equalizer but his shot was denied by Rui Silva. Real kept pushing and Oyarzabal drilled in a shot to make it 2-2. One point would have been enough but Duarte scored in stoppage time and gave the visitors all three points.
Real lost a unique opportunity and it all gets very complicated now. Aúpa Real!
