Alberto Górriz Echarte was born on the 16th of February of 1958 in Irún. He played mainly as a central defender. He holds the record for most Real Sociedad appearances, having played 599 games. He also played 461 Premier League games. He has won four major titles: 2 Leagues, one Spanish Cup and one Spanish Super Cup.

Sporting career:

Alberto Gorriz spent his entire career with Real Sociedad. After playing for San Marcial and Touring, he joined Sanse (the reserve team of Real Sociedad) in the 1977-78 season. He played a total of 60 games for Sanse.

On the 10th of January of 1979, he made his first team debut on the Spanish Cup game against Lleida (Real Sociedad won 0-1). On the 14th of April of 1979, he made his League debut in a 4-0 away win against Rayo Vallecano. In the 1980-81 season, he was named first team’s captain. He served as the captain for 12 seasons. Górriz retired on the 13th of June of 1993. On that day, Real Sociedad played their last match at Atotxa stadium.

As an international player, he played 12 games for the national team and appeared in the Italy World Cup 1990, where he scored one goal.
