"Excited about what's to come"

Pellegrino Matarazzo has extended his contract with Real Sociedad through to the end of the 2027-28 season.

The head coach made clear his excitement about what lies ahead. "I am happy with the work done so far and, above all, excited about what's to come. I connected very well with the people of Gipuzkoa, with the players, with everyone at the club. We share similar values, and that makes everything easier."

On the demands of the season ahead, Matarazzo was unequivocal. "I have no problem with high expectations. To be honest, we perform very well under pressure. We are excited about the competitions ahead this season and we will push ourselves every single day to get the most out of it."

President Jokin Aperribay was equally optimistic. "Rino gave everything from day one, and we have great hopes of building our future together. Being the best from Monday to Friday is what will make Real Sociedad a great club, and we must stay on that path."

Sporting Director Erik Bretos echoed those sentiments. "We are delighted to be extending Rino's contract. He found the right formula, and we are very excited to keep working and improving together, and to continue developing this squad. There are ambitious and exciting challenges ahead of us."
