His time as a txuri urdin player comes to an end

Aritz Elustondo will leave Real Sociedad when his contract expires at the end of this season, bringing to a close an exemplary career in txuri urdin colours. The Beasain-born defender and club captain leaves behind a legacy built on commitment, consistency and pride.

He made his debut for the club of his life in January 2015, in a Copa del Rey tie in Oviedo, and has since gone on to make 310 official appearances across eleven seasons with the first team.

Aritz has been the embodiment of professionalism both on and off the pitch, the kind of player every club values. Reliable, committed and always ready to contribute, he has always been available to every manager over the past decade. He departs with the admiration and respect of the entire Real Sociedad family, having worn the shirt with pride on every occasion and led the team with distinction in recent years.

His achievements speak for themselves, highlighted by two unforgettable Copa del Rey titles in which he played a key role. Aritz has fulfilled the dream of so many young players from Gipuzkoa, and in doing so, has helped fulfil ours by representing the club with such dedication.
