Ticket to round three!

La Real earned their ticket to the Copa del Rey’s third round thanks to a solid 2–0 win in Reus, decided after the break by goals from Goti and Sadiq.

The first half produced very few scoring chances. A cross from Marín that Carrera struck straight at the home goalkeeper, and a couple of set-piece actions for the hosts — little else. At the start of the second half, Goti managed to turn into the net a layoff from Sadiq, putting Real Sociedad in front. Ten minutes from the end, the Catalan side hit the woodwork, giving the txuri urdin a real scare. Then, in stoppage time, Sadiq wrapped things up from the penalty spot after being fouled in the area.

Now safely into the third-round draw, the txuri urdin turn their attention back to LaLiga: next stop, Mendizorrotza on Saturday.
