He will cease to belong to la Real

La Real Sociedad have communicated Carlos Martínez that he will cease to belong to the txuri-urdin club once his contract terminates on the 30th of June. The club would like to thank Carlos for his commitment, dedication and professionalism over the 18 years in which he has been part of the club and want to wish him the best for his personal and professional future.

Example of self-love and txuri-urdin pride

Carlos Martínez joined la Real when he was just a child. He was 13 when he set foot for the first time at Zubieta where he played for the cadete txiki team. There, he met the Zurutuza brothers, Markel Bergara, Agirretxe or Mikel González. He played two years for the youth players team, later he played for the juveniles and finally he played for Sanse. During the 07-08 season, Carlos made his Real Sociedad debut at Anoeta during the opening Second Division match against Castellón. Since then, his txuri-urdin career has been fantastic, he has shared his success and has la Real in his heart with good pride. He will leave the team after having played 11 seasons and 208 official games for the first team (we hope you play some more!). He has given his all and has lived each day as if it was his last. Fans appreciate this. Now, it is time to venture a new start but he will always count on the respect of the txuri-urdin family. Thank you and good luck, Txarly.
