Real Sociedad and Sergio Francisco have reached an agreement for the Irún-born coach to take charge of the first team starting next season. The current Sanse manager has signed a contract until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Tomorrow’s match against Unionistas de Salamanca will mark his final game in charge of Sanse. Starting Monday, he will focus exclusively on planning next season with the club’s football department. Iosu Rivas, formerly Sanse’s assistant coach, will take over the team for the remainder of the campaign.
Sergio’s bond with Real Sociedad runs deep. As a player, he made his first-team debut in 2000 after progressing through the Zubieta system, from Easo to Juvenil A to Sanse. He played five matches with the first team.
Sergio’s journey as a coach began in 2014 with Easo. He then served as assistant at Berio FT before taking charge of Real C in the 2017-18 season, guiding the team to promotion to Segunda RFEF and overseeing five solid campaigns. For the past three seasons, he has led Sanse with remarkable dedication and success. Now, he takes on the exciting challenge and great responsibility of managing the first team. Zorte on, Sergio. Good luck!
