Real Sociedad faces a promising present and future. With healthy finances and no debt, the club has invested €120 million across the stadium renovation and the development works in Zubieta. Supported by strong economic footing and modern facilities, the club continues to pursue structural growth, maintain sporting ambition, and evolve in who we are and everything we do.

At today’s General Meeting at the Kursaal, the Board of Directors reported financial results that include a €17 million surplus and a final net equity of €93 million — figures Aperribay described as “extraordinary.” The club currently holds a positive balance of €80 million and carries no debt with financial institutions. Aperribay also presented a record budget of €160 million.

Regarding the sporting side, Aperribay recognized the disappointing results from last season and the challenging start to this one. “The solution must come from us — from developing our playing style and elevating our performance to meet the demands and achieve results. We will only remain competitive if we are demanding and perform at our best from Monday to Friday.” He also emphasized the club’s ambition to reestablish itself as a regular presence in European competitions, as it has been in recent years.

Aperribay highlighted the importance of Sanse and the club’s strong commitment to developing young talent, noting that 42 players under the age of 25 are spread between the first team and Sanse. “We will invest €36 million in infrastructure at Zubieta, with the sole aim of supporting the progression of our players.” Spending on the academy —dedicated to training and development— now exceeds €18 million, “a major investment focused on nurturing talent and supporting the growth of our young players, both in their sporting development and their education and wellbeing.” Aperribay also emphasized that 290 of the club’s 297 players are currently studying, with 73 of them pursuing higher education or university degrees.

In terms of international expansion, he highlighted that Real Sociedad continues its work in Scandinavia, West Africa, and Japan, focusing not only on scouting and developing players but also on achieving strong performance. Regarding Yasuda, he outlined the revised agreement and confirmed that the club has provisioned the amount owed by the Japanese firm.

Jokin Aperribay also revealed a new measure to allow 63 provincial buses to park or drop off and pick up fans at Paseo de Zorroaga in Riberas on matchdays, reducing congestion at Illunbe. The club will soon announce when the system will be implemented, with plans for it to be ready for the first 2026 match against Atlético de Madrid.
