Eusebio Sacristán Mena

Head coach
60 years old, La Seca (Valladolid) 13 April 1964

Prior to embarking on his coaching career, the Txuri-urdin tactician enjoyed a lengthy and outstanding playing career. A creative midfielder with fine vision, it was during his time at Real Valladolid that Eusebio began to make a name for himself. It wasn't long before the big clubs started to show an interest in securing his services and following a brief spell at Atlético Madrid he joined FC Barcelona, with whom he claimed a European Cup, a Cup Winners Cup, four league titles and the Copa del Rey, amongst other honours. He then went on to play for Celta Vigo before bringing his playing days to an end at Valladolid. His first steps in coaching came as assistant to Frank Rijkaard at Barcelona, with the pair guiding the side to two Champions League crowns and a league title. He later coached Celta and then returned to the Camp Nou to take charge of Barcelona B.
