"Continue doing things well"

Eusebio Sacristán attended the media after Sunday’s closed doors training session in Zubieta. The coach warned that “any result can be expected” in what is turning out to be a closely-fought league campaign. His Real Sociedad go into tomorrow’s game against Deportivo in the European places while the hosts are hovering just above the relegation zone on 10 points. Eusebio stressed that Real Sociedad cannot take anything for granted. “For what we have seen so far, it’s clear that this season, the league is quite even, and we can see any kind of result in any game; which means that we have to be fully prepared and we have to focus solely on our own game and we need to continue doing things well – when we play to our best level and do things well, we boost our chances of gaining a win. On this occasion, we will be facing a rival who are in a difficult situation and I am sure that they have been preparing for this game with the idea of turning their situation around. We know the kind of difficulties we will face against Deportivo, whose coach is from here so he knows all about Real Sociedad and our players. So we need to be ready for that. When we are focused, alert and play intense football, the team competes well and has shown that we are a strong side, with ample possibilities to win; we have to maintain that mentality, and keep building up points so that we can remain in a privileged part of the table – a position which makes us excited about the future”, Eusebio said. The coach gave his analysis on Monday’s opponents, Deportivo: “While they haven’t been getting good results of late, they are looking very close to getting results. A lot of parts to their game they do well during long phases of the game. So we have a lot of respect for Depor, and for their coach – a good coach who knows us and what to expect. We will be up against a side who will be giving it everything they’ve got to change the dynamic they’re in. We need to bear in mind that while we have been doing things well, we must have maximum concentration in all of our games. We also need to take care of the small details, the one which allow us to compete every weekend because tomorrow, we will need to do everything right to win”, he concluded.
